Aer Soléir is seeking a Wind Turbine Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team.

The Wind Turbine Engineer will be responsible for the technical aspects of the development, procurement, construction, installation, start-up, commissioning and long term operations and maintenance of Aer Soléir’s utility-scale wind projects. This role reports to the Head of Asset management

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support the development of projects ;
    • Preliminary system design and optimization
    • Conceptual project site layouts
    • Technical input to project schedules
    • Project cost estimates, including upfront capex and long-term opex
    • Preliminary engineering to support permitting, interconnection and procurement
  • Serve as technical resource for project development team, developing solutions and handling technical challenges that arise during various phases of the project
  • Develop specifications for wind turbine equipment suppliers and contractors, and provide technical support to procurement of equipment and contractors
  • Evaluate technologies and manufacturers for capital and operational efficiencies
  • Research equipment forward price curves and emerging technologies
  • Monitor relevant industry standards relating wind turbine deployment
  • Develop innovative tools and approaches to optimize levelised cost wind projects
  • Support due diligence of project acquisitions upon request
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record in wind and keen interest in renewable energy in general
  • Strong technical expertise and ability to provide sound technical guidance
  • Ability to work in a project-type environment with tight deadlines and concurrent deliverables
  • Ability to learn, understand and communicate technical issues effectively to lay audiences
  • Ability to effectively manage contractors and consultants to achieve deadlines on budget
  • Ability to review technical designs, reports and documentation, and provide analysis
  • Travel to project sites as required

Education / Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent) preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in renewable energy
  • Experience in utility scale wind/solar/storage project engineering, construction and operation is a requisite
  • Experience managing contractors and consultants
  • Experience working with suppliers of major equipment suppliers
  • High motivation and passion to help create and efficiently deliver renewable energy projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment
  • Attention to detail
